LOGOS|1998-2009

05.21.2009

logos_150I’ve done hundreds of logos in my 16 years of being a designer. Here’s a small sample of some of them ranging from simple typography to illustrations. I’ve created alot of typefaces from A-Z and usually create something new even when I use more common fonts. I really enjoy making logos and icons and will never grow tired of it no matter how many I’ve done.

ELIGH & JO CD|2009

02.08.2009

eligh_jo_150Eligh and his mother Jo Wilkinson made a new genre bending album of Folk Hop and asked me to create the album package for them. Despite my retiring from doing CD packages I agreed to do this one since it was such a cool project and I can’t deny the family. We took inspiration from Eligh’s persona as the black crow and also mixed in the idea of an ancient book of poetry.

DRAWINGS|1998-2008

05.21.2008

illus_150These are illustrations and sketches done through the years. Some rough and some more polished. Some colored with design markers and paint pens others colored in photoshop. The ones that get colored on the computer are first drawn in pen and ink and scanned in. I never mastered actually drawing in the computer, but some are collages of photographs and are all manipulated in the computer.

PAINTINGS MISC|2000-2008

05.21.2008

paint_misc_b_150These are various projects that I’ve done as commissions or that don’t fit into the categories of art making I have created. From tradeshow booths that I custom painted and designed to boom boxes that were collaged and painted. I like to make all types of things and on varied surfaces so this is where you’ll find that.

STAINED GLASS|2000-2008

05.21.2008

stained_150I’ve always found stained glass art to be amazing. The mixture of color and light is very powerful. I also like the thick linework and simplified and stylized imagery. The way the pieces are never the same every second of every day changing as the sun moves about the sky. The images and colors that are projected onto the walls around the pieces is also very beautiful. I taught myself the craft and began making some pieces that mixed my style of geometric art and graffiti.

PAINTINGS WALLS|2000-2008

05.21.2008

walls_150Graffiti art in NYC was what first really attracted me to art. It was what I practiced as a kid and what lead to my making art my lifetime career. I still make graffiti pieces in my spare time, only now mostly with permission. The color theory, line quality, and design behind graffiti typography is a major part of my design, animation, and directorial work to this day. Here are some walls I’ve blessed over the last 10 years.

PAINTINGS CANVAS|2000-2008

05.21.2008

canvas_150With 2 of my best friends for most of my life being 2 of the most prolific painters of our generation (Phil Frost & Doze Green) I’ve been around some amazing canvas painting in my day. Some of it rubbed off on me and I’ve made some of my own canvasses. Most of my canvasses are experiments and studies for stained glass pieces I’d like to make. When I get old and retire this is all I want to do. I’ve been in a number of group art shows throughout the years.

PROJECT GROUNDATION MASSIVE|2007

10.10.2007

pgmthumbThis is the line that I made for my good friend DJ Child and his crew of singers and producers. Inspired by roots reggae and the movement from Jamaica to Brooklyn of conscious lifestyle and revolutionary thinking. I’ve had the pleasure to see our line worn be some of my favorite singers such as Richie Spice, Sizzla, Jah Dan, and many more.

TUFF CITY STYLES|2007

07.23.2007

tuffcitythumbI did these designs at the end of summer 2007 for the grand opening of my brother Med’s store on 650 Fordham Road in the Bronx NYC. I’ve been down with TCS for 8 years, that’s my NY family. Med, Ces, Yes2, and me create the line with graffiti and tattoo inspired art. Best place in NY to get a tattoo, airbrush work, buy spraypaint, graffiti canvasses, and gear. They keep expanding the facility and it’s a Bronx landmark for any true hip hop head the world over.

SPIRIT7 STAINED GLASS BUS|2007

03.07.2007

buswidethumbAll this being chained to the computer bizness sucks! I prefer to burn the crap out of my hand with soldering irons and breathe molten lead fumes! Here’s my latest stained glass creation: 300 pieces and 400 watts! My good friend Alex Dervin of Network invited me to do my version of the Bus project for the Group show “blood, sweat, and tires.” I wanted to get my shine on. I’ve been working with stained glass for awhile and merging graffiti and design. This was my first 3 dimensional piece with glass.
