Music video for 2 time Grammy winning Gospel group Mary Mary. This one is our first entirely live action video with no real FX and the graphics were incorporated into the shoot practically on the LCDs. We focused on the girls looking beautiful and creating a really fun and spirited fashion show.
Secret History directs this narrative based epic video for unsigned artist Ameish. Set in a typical shallow LA gallery environment Ameish leads us into 3 very different but similar realities through a photography exhibition that comes to life. A very different approach from our past music videos we took a very realistic approach to the FX that creates a very dramatic mood for the gritty vignettes revealed by Ameish’s lyrics. Shot entirely on 35mm and 16mm film we gave this one a very cinematic feel.
Another greenscreen burner for Paris. This one takes place in a virtual Bay Area as Paris leads the revolution. Paris takes hypocritical rappers, police, politicians, news networks and anyone in his way to court in this one. A call to action that was released in 2008 before the elections. It went on MTV Jams on election day. Follow P-Dog as he leads his hard truth mob all the way to the doors of the White House.
Documentary by Peter Spirer about rappers that have been incarcerated. A combination of 3D and live action footage takes you inside the jail for this title sequence. We also did alot of stop motion and dope lower 3rds. An extensive graphics toolkit for this doc. make it a very packaged piece. It premiered at the LA United Film Festival in 2009. Look for this to be released on Image Entertainment this year.
Here is our ARTSY offering to all of hipsterdom. We salute you from SIlverlake to Williamsburg. Lots of greenscreen fun, we parody in a range of styles from some of our favorite Artsy artists. Longtime friend and client The Grouch approached us with the song “just wanted something funny that didn’t show his face too much.” This video was nominated for MVPA’s 2008 Best Hip Hop Video of the year, the front page of Youtube, Myspace, & chosen by MTV staff to be put onto MTV2 + MTVU.
This is the line that I made for my good friend DJ Child and his crew of singers and producers. Inspired by roots reggae and the movement from Jamaica to Brooklyn of conscious lifestyle and revolutionary thinking. I’ve had the pleasure to see our line worn be some of my favorite singers such as Richie Spice, Sizzla, Jah Dan, and many more.
I did these designs at the end of summer 2007 for the grand opening of my brother Med’s store on 650 Fordham Road in the Bronx NYC. I’ve been down with TCS for 8 years, that’s my NY family. Med, Ces, Yes2, and me create the line with graffiti and tattoo inspired art. Best place in NY to get a tattoo, airbrush work, buy spraypaint, graffiti canvasses, and gear. They keep expanding the facility and it’s a Bronx landmark for any true hip hop head the world over.
A Montage of Promos, Opens, and Graphic Toolkit from our 2007 Network Rebrand of the Latino music and culture station. Creative Directed by BUILDESTROY with animation collaboration with Wondermint. We painted on greenscreen for a few days with 5 SLR cameras clicking away the entire time. We added 3D camera moves and compositing to create a unique world of painting that also had a user generated vibe. We were featured in the prestigous Stash DVD #34 in July of 2007 for this work.
